Although a small footprint, this project was complex in scope. The addition had to be nestled between 3 sides of existing buildings. The energy efficient shell housed new classrooms and offices for the campus and library. The basement and roof were designed to house new cooling tower equipment for the campus.
Plato, an archdiocese school on Chicago’s west side, had to be renovated to comply with ADA regulations. DMA Architects helped to access the requirements and complete design, construction drawings and project administration for a new elevator, accessible toilets and general clean up of the 1920’s school building.
Affiliated with Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago Teacher’s Center is an organization that makes itself available to teachers for training and education. DMA helped to plan the 24,000 square foot renovation with new office, meeting and resource spaces that featured the concrete framework of the existing loft building.
Office and commercial design work by DMA is extensive and includes many types of projects in different building types. These include office space, stores, salons, restaurants, studios, conference center to mention only a few.
Like any architect, DMA Architects has its share of projects for which design work has been done but for one reason or another they have not been built. We thought that we would show you a few examples.
