Leep Forward Child Development Center

LEEP Forward is child development center helping young challenged children become more successful in their communication and interactive skills. DMA helped in the review and recommendations for improvements to the new facility that they relocated to on west Washington Boulevard in Chicago. The new facility consists of new interior and exterior children space.

Living Word Christian Center

DMA Architects worked initially with Living Word Christian Center to design the exterior and main lobby of their new 3000 person auditorium building. The 1940’s structure was originally a torpedo factory, later converted to an enclosed mall and multiplex. Living Word added new life as a church/ conference/ educational center.

Other projects in the 280,000 square foot building included new classroom, meeting, and office spaces; an off site school renovation; a new office suite and garage for the lead pastor; an educational and training center; and a future campus plan for a proposed 60 acre site.

Dominican University Library Addition

Although a small footprint, this project was complex in scope.

The addition had to be nestled between 3 sides of existing buildings. The energy efficient shell housed new classrooms and offices for the campus and library. The basement and roof were designed to house new cooling tower equipment for the campus.

Plato Charter School

Plato, an archdiocese school on Chicago’s west side, had to be renovated to comply with ADA regulations.

DMA Architects helped to access the requirements and complete design, construction drawings and project administration for a new elevator, accessible toilets and general clean up of the 1920’s school building.

Chicago Teacher’s Center

Affiliated with Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago Teacher’s Center is an organization that makes itself available to teachers for training and education.

DMA helped to plan the 24,000 square foot renovation with new office, meeting and resource spaces that featured the concrete framework of the existing loft building.
