5 Rabbit Brewery Renovation

Working on a tight budget, 5 Rabbit needed to find a building that had as much of the existing required infrastructure already in place in which to begin brewing. Clear span heights tall enough for the planned tanks was important. So was finding a building with an adequate existing electrical service. An existing shipping and receiving area would facilitate movement of product in and out. DMA assisted in that evaluation process and then provide architectural and engineering services for the space build out which was completed in under 3 months.

Leep Forward Child Development Center

LEEP Forward is child development center helping young challenged children become more successful in their communication and interactive skills. DMA helped in the review and recommendations for improvements to the new facility that they relocated to on west Washington Boulevard in Chicago. The new facility consists of new interior and exterior children space.

Frank Lloyd Wright Thomas Gale House Renovation and Addition

As one of Wright’s earliest ‘bootleg’ homes in Oak Park, Illinois, done freelance while he was still engaged with another architectural firm, this house was in desperate need of a respectful overhaul. The kitchen in these types of homes was a little bigger than a medium sized closet today and all the bedrooms shared a common bath on the second floor.

DMA Architects designed an open family room/ kitchen first floor addition with a second floor master bath and closet extension added to one of the bedrooms. The balance of the house was also renovated.

Evanston Mixed Use

This mixed use building consists of first floor commercial space and two upper floors of 4 residential units each. The building had lower level parking for residences with nominal parking in the rear. The building was designed in a prairie style.

Hyde Park Townhouse Development

Indian Village Townhomes was built on a site overlooking Lake Shore Drive near the University of Chicago.

The 7- four story attached townhome units have beautiful views of the Chicago skyline to the north. The units feature: first floor garage and guest suite, second floor living space, third floor bedrooms and a fourth floor family room with exterior deck space.

High rise Condo Renovation

This was a limited renovation of a high rise Chicago condominium. The study was opened to the living room with a pair of opaque glass pocket doors. A wall shelf was added in the living room. Kitchen and all the bathrooms were upgraded with new cabinetry and fixtures.

Dairy Queen Bucktown Chicago

DMA provided architectural and engineering services on a variety of Dairy Queen franchises in the city of Chicago. This one was built from the ground up on a narrow site in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago.

It featured an outside pickup window, ground floor kitchen, toilet and prep areas and second floor inside and outside dining. The building was designed to be a highly energy efficient shell.

Goose Island Brewery Renovations

DMA Architects has been working with Goose Island Brewery for the past several years as it expands its beer line and facility.

Projects have included new ADA toilet facilities, a new tasting platform, new rooms for expansion of the Matilda line and new exterior tank pads.
